At Charleston Montessori, one of the ways we cultivate a strong school community is by bringing families together for special events. Some of these events are just for families and others bring together the greater community, but they are all an important part of what makes Charleston Montessori so special.
Back to School Swim Party
Our annual back to school event usually takes place the weekend before school starts. This is a wonderful time for friends to reconnect and for new students to meet their classmates before the first day of school.
Family Open House
Our Family Open House takes place in September and allows students to show their families around the school. This is an opportunity to meet your child’s teacher, look around the classroom, and socialize with other families.
Harvest Feast
The Harvest Feast is an annual November fundraising event that brings the community together for a delicious meal and dessert raffle. This special event depends on help from our families for ticket sales, food donations, and cooking.
Book and Bake Sale
The Book and Bake Sale, an annual December fundraising event, brings a Taylor Books pop-up shop to Charleston Montessori. We accept donations of baked goods for the sale and a portion of Taylor Books’ proceeds are donated to Charleston Montessori School. Our students look forward to this fun shopping opportunity every year.
Winter and Spring Shows
Twice a year our students perform a concert for their families in the sanctuary of neighboring Bream Memorial Presbyterian Church.
Community Open House
Community members and families who are interested in Montessori education for their child are invited to attend our Community Open House. Take a tour of the school, visit with our faculty, and learn about what makes Charleston Montessori special.
Shadow Night
At Shadow Night, families are able to shadow their child and quietly observe them working in the classroom. This gives families an inside look at the Montessori environment and gives students an opportunity to showcase a favorite lesson.
Parent Education Night
This event is for parents and guardians to enjoy a presentation from their child’s teacher, generally about a topic related to Montessori education.
Life’s a Hike
Our annual series of hikes takes place in April and May. This is a fun way for Charleston Montessori School families and their friends to spend time together while staying active!
